I have not posted in awhile as I have been working hard trying to learn my new role as chair of my department. Some of the lessons I had inklings of before I started but they have come to the forefront over the past few weeks.
- There is a rule subject to another at all times. When one thinks they know the rule, there is always a proviso or addendum that is attached to it.
- Decisions are not made in isolation. Everything has consequences.
- A sense of humility is required.
I hope things are going well and work because starting a new job isn't always the easiest things to do.
