I am alive another day. I am thankful most days for that.
2. Where did you spend your last vacation?
spent a romantic overnight with my wife at Wild Dunes Resort (a fact that she has seemed to have forgotten). Perhaps I was not so romantic.
3. Who is your favorite author?
My favorite author is Steve Litvin...we have coauthored several papers and I love reading his writing. No one turns some of my wackier ideas into readable pieces of work than he does.
As for more popular culture type work, I do like Robert Asprin of the Myth Series fame. I absolutely love those books.
4. What other Memes do you participate in during the week?
I do all of Heather's memes. MQAM, Stumble Tumble Tuesday, Wordless Wednesdays and Thirsty for Thursdays. Further, I participate in Mrs. 4444's Friday Fragments and Unknown Mami's Sundays in My City.
Now my question for all of you -
What one sentence piece of advice would you give to a university graduate about transitioning into the 'real world.'
My advice is that there are no rubrics in the real world...
ReplyDeletePS - while our one night away was great ... I consider that a date night or maybe a staycation... not a full-fledged vacay...
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat the small stuff and work towards your end goals
ReplyDeleteGet a job, get up and go to that job every day, put some money into a savings account every pay check and live within your means.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Monday!

You don't have to start out with the best car, best house, best anything - try to save part of every paycheck.
ReplyDeleteIn business respect those above you, below you and competing with you as your equals, listening to their opinions and ideas; personal success is still a group project.
ReplyDelete...And I agree with Heather; vacations have to at least be longer than a weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteTransitioning into the real world.... hmmm...
ReplyDelete"Go volunteer as a missionary for a few months in a foreign country!" :)
When you get a job keep it! Save money now for your future and retirement, don't wait until you older. Do it now! Do not run up credit cards just because you can. It may come back to bite you later.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.... To answer your question...- I would have to say this...now is the time your life as an adult officially starts so be prepared for rejections no one gets an yes right off keep trying and believing in yourself, that will allow for those to see that belief and want to believe also :))
ReplyDeletemy youngest son is in his senior year of college so this will be his speech :))
